Mission:

The Martha's Vineyard Mediation Program's mission is to encourage all residents of Dukes County - full time, part-time and seasonal - to resolve conflicts through mediation. We do this by providing education and outreach as well as mediation services. Our secondary mission is to relieve congestion in the court system. Although we make our services available to all residents and visitors, we are particularly dedicated to serving the Island's year-round population.

Major Programs:

We help people resolve conflicts in all areas: Business, Family and Community.

  • We provide mediation services in the Dukes County Family & Probate Court, District Court and Superior Court.  As a community-based program, our fee structure is determined by a sliding scale and based on the income of the parties, thereby affordable to all.
  • Our trained mediators work on community conflicts involving neighbors, landlords & tenants, homeowners & contractors, business owners, parents and childre, and spouses.
  • We provide basic mediation training and sponsor workshops on specialized areas of conflict resolution.
