Mission:
The Yard's organizational mission is to promote growth and experimentation in modern dance choreography and related performing arts and to support the art of choreography through presenting and audience education
Major Programs:
The Yard’s longstanding residencies provide artists with the opportunity to experiment in a focused, supportive environment, with no strings attached.
The summer Yard Arts! Festival presents world class dance, theater, music and opera in the Yard’s own theater and at the MV Performing Arts Center.
The Yard is committed to making the art of choreography accessible to audiences through outreach and education at all levels. Its artists-in-the-schools program brings highly skilled teaching artists to all of the island’s public schools yearly.
