Box 4423 Vineyard Haven, MA 02568 T: 508.696.9369 W: www.mvfilmsociety.com & www.mvfilmfest.com Founded: 1999Mission: The Martha's Vineyard Film Society is a member-funded non-profit arts organization dedicated to screening the best in independent films, movie classics, documentaries, and world cinema for diverse audiences of all ages throughout the year. Major Programs: We currently offer film screenings and events year round onthe Island of Martha's Vineyard with established film series at the Katharine Cornell Theater in off season and in summer at the Union Chapel. We also do occasional outdoor screenings and special events at the Capawock Movie Theatre or other island venues. The Society also sponsors film-related speakers, educational programs and special events to enhance its main mission and increase the community appreciation of fine cinema in all its forms. For example we sponsor the MV High School Video/Film Club, with over 15 active participants this year. Since 2006 the Martha's Vineyard Film Society has produced the annual Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival, a four day/evening festival celebrating films from around the globe. At the center of our festival we aim to help you discover other places, people and cultures different from our own and to bring these great films to our community and to visitors to the island. The Festival is held the second weekend in September each year and attracts over 2400 participants annually. We are looking for financial donations to help us upgrade our projection and sound equipment and to expand our programming from weekly to more frequent/daily offerings. 501(c)(3)? Yes Form 990 Filed?
