Mission:

To educate the Martha’s Vineyard Island community through workshops, publications, and other methods of communication about healing practices which contribute to the well being of the whole person through integration of mind, body and spirit.

What is meant by “Whole Health?” The word “Whole” is intended to emphasize that health is more than the absence of sickness, it is a state of well being. In order to achieve a state of well being the needs of the whole person, body, mind and spirit, must be served.

Whole Health practitioners include anyone who promotes health and well-being through practices which integrate body, mind, and spirit. The alternative healthcare model is one which embraces the holistic health philosophy. In recent years, there have been growing numbers of conventional practitioners who are embracing holistic medical practices.

Major Programs:
We create an awareness raising event for our annual meeting each year. We are represented on the Dukes County Health Council. Our board has decided to make a major membership drive this year, with our new website as a functional feature through which we hope to organize and facilitate increased membership.

Other Information:

This is our year to increase membership to a critical mass at which we hope to become more effective as a collective alliance. As medicine evolves to be more integrative of many approaches, we find ourselves committed as an alliance and ready to act not only as practitioners from a broad range of disciplines but as students, educators and facilitators in the allied health fields.
