USA Endurance Events

We host our annual Martha’s Vineyard Marathon & Half Marathon. Volunteer roles include bag stuffing, handing out water to runners, helping runners check in, etc. Each year we donate to the high school and try to recruit volunteers as well as the YMCA of MV.

Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands

Description: Meals on Wheels volunteers are needed to deliver meals to homebound seniors Monday-Friday. Volunteers will usually deliver one day weekly, and will deliver to a specific area on the Island. The total commitment is about two hours, between 10 and noon, and mileage reimbursement is available. Meals are picked up at Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands M.V. office, located in the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. A CORI check is required. Year-round, seasonal, and substitute drivers are welcome.

Misty Meadows Equine Learning Center 

Description: Make new friends!  Help others!  Be with horses!  Have fun! Be part of a team! Be outside!

Misty runs programming year-round and we are in need of volunteers.  Based on your interests, we have something for everyone! Be a unicorn or assist with activities at an event, participate in lessons with the horses and students as a horse handler or a side walker. Have fun doing barn tasks such as, filling hay nets, sweeping, and more. There is always a project or task to be done! We will work with your schedule! No prior experience needed for most roles! Training provided!

Harbor Homes of Martha's Vineyard 

Description: Do you like gardening? Harbor Homes operates 2 buildings that provide housing for formerly homeless residents. While residents mow the lawns, they both have perennial gardens that are over grown and full of weeds. We would like to see the outside appearances beautified. We would love to have a volunteer(s) to help us keep up the gardens. We provide gardening tools and new plantings as needed.

Island Grown Initiative

Island Grown SchoolsIsland Grown Schools seeks volunteer help in gardens and classrooms to teach the next generation of Island students about where their food comes from. Volunteer opportunities involve working with our staff as they deliver garden lessons and facilitate after school cooking and gardening clubs, and basic garden maintenance. 

Island Food Pantry: Island Food Pantry is always looking for volunteers to help with various shifts throughout the week: Monday through Saturday.  Volunteer opportunities involve packing, helping with service, delivering groceries, loading and unloading food from trucks, stocking shelves and much more. 
IGI Gleaning: Help us harvest fresh local produce on Island farms for those in need. We provide tools, instruction and an experienced Field Captain. Most gleans last about two hours. Volunteers may keep a share of the harvest for themselves. This is a great way to meet new people and become engaged in helping the Island community. 

IGI Food ProcessingWork as a team in commercial kitchens to wash, chop, freeze and pickle local produce. A ServeSafe manager leads processing events. We share this food with the Councils on Aging, Wampanoag Women’s Center, MV Hospital, Island Food Pantry, MV Community Services and other organizations helping Islanders in need.

MV Film Center 

Theater Operations Coordinator: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Theatre Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation of the film center and coordination of part-time and volunteer staff (when needed) to operate the center efficiently. The Theatre Coordinator must ensure the successful execution of all film and non-film events on time. Availability for late nights, weekends and holidays are a must: typical off-season schedule (September to June) is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 3-10 pm with occasional 1 pm matinees on weekend. In summer it’s 6-10 pm, 5-6 nights a week. Some deviations to this schedule occur during the year. This is a Full Time, Year-Round Position.

RN Case Manager- Hospice and Palliative Care of Martha’s Vineyard is seeking a part-time or full-time Nurse Case Manager. MV Film Festival 

It’s a great time to join our team.
